Kuiko Movie Review:

Kuiko Movie Review:
The film "Kuiko," directed by T Arul Chehian, is a rural drama that centers around an inhabited temple and a pivotal freezer box. In the narrative, Vidharth, who loses his job as a teacher, becomes a central character when he delivers a freezer box to Yogi Babu's house after the passing of his mother. The impact of this seemingly simple act on the lives of characters in the village unfolds slowly, with the film taking its time to build the central conflict, which arises well after the intermission.

The character dynamics are explored through Malayappan, a former animal rearer turned camel farmer in Saudi Arabia, and Thyagarajan, a compassionate but fired teacher. The pacing of the film is criticized as lazy, with the camera leisurely following characters at its own pace. The director attempts to weave various ideas into the story.

Issues with execution are pointed out, particularly the lack of sufficient screen time for the freezer box, which is supposed to be central to the story. The film is faulted for a lack of focus in writing and detailed descriptions of everyday activities that do not contribute significantly to the audience's engagement. While the exploration of death houses and cultural celebrations is acknowledged. The film is described as having a simple and unchanging story, with a diversion of focus into parallel storylines, leaving the audience confused about the director's intended message.
