 Singapore Saloon Movie Review:

The film "Singapore Saloon" revolves around Kadir, played by RJ Balaji, who aspires to become a great hairstylist inspired by the talent of Sacha, played by Lal. Kadir believes that barbering is not just a profession but an art. The movie explores Kadir's journey as he overcomes obstacles to success in the hairstyling world. RJ Balaji, known for his one-liners, delivers a deep performance in the film, embodying the character of Kadir despite some shortcomings in the character sketch. Meenakshi Chaudhary, playing the heroine, is noted for flawlessly portraying her role, even though her character has limited scope beyond emotional scenes.

The supporting cast, including Kishan Das, Thalivasal Vijay, and Lal, contribute well to their character roles. Sathyaraj stands out with his comedic performance as a miserly father-in-law, particularly in the first half of the film. Director Gokul successfully maintains a jovial vibe with well-timed humor, especially in the childhood scenes. However, the narrative takes a downturn when the film shifts to a more serious mode, addressing various social issues such as rains, floods, TV reality shows, displacement of people, and habitats of endangered birds. The reviewer expresses dissatisfaction with the film's attempt to tackle numerous problems simultaneously, suggesting that a more focused approach to specific issues had a greater impact.

Vivek-Mervin's music is described as comforting, although none of the songs stand out prominently. Javed Riaz's score complements the film without detracting from its overall quality. Editor Selvakumar's work is acknowledged for adding strength to the film, and Art Director Jayachandran receives congratulations for the well-designed Singaporean saloon shop setup. However, the review points out that the CG scenes featuring flocks of parrots could have been executed with more precision. In conclusion, the film receives mixed feedback, with positive remarks on performances, humor, and technical aspects, but criticism for certain elements of the story, character development, and the handling of serious themes.
