Director Prashanth Varma's "HanuMan," a superhero fantasy film featuring Teja Sajja, embarked on a unique adventure by participating in the Sankranthi Big Film competition. Despite initial challenges, the film, set in a rural backdrop, successfully captivated audiences not only in Telugu but also across other languages. The narrative unfolds in 1998, where an evil boy named Michael in a big city aspires to become a Superman-like figure. In the present day, in a remote village called Anjanadri, a petty thief named Hanuman (Teja Sajja) acquires superhero powers after a dramatic turn of events involving a Hanuman-like entity found in a river. The story takes an adventurous twist as Hanuman confronts a criminal named Gajapathi, portrayed by Raj Deepak Shetty.

Director Prashanth Varma draws inspiration from classic socio-fantasy stories like 'Jagadeka Veeru Atiloka Sundari.' While the plot bears some resemblance to Marvel Studios' superhero movies, the film distinguishes itself by infusing modernity into a rural setting, presenting relatable characters and elements of piety. This approach appeals to both class and mass audiences.

In an era dominated by action films known for their intensity and violence, "HanuMan" introduces a refreshing take by adopting an adventure-thriller genre with a touch of comedy. This departure from the conventional formula adds a new layer of entertainment and resonates well with the audience.
