*It’s Official - Director R. Kannan’s ‘Ivan Thanthiran-2’*

Filmmaker R. Kannan embarked on his directorial journey with the film ‘Jayam Kondan’. His filmography includes a plethora of promising and commercially successful hit movies. One among them is ‘Ivan Thanthiran’. The filmmaker, seven years after its blockbuster success, is now all set to materialize the second part. 

R. Kannan is producing this film for his production house Masala Pictures, and he has earlier produced movies like ‘Thalli Pogathey’, ‘Boomerang’, ‘Ivan Thanthiran’, ‘Kasethan Kadavulada’, ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’ and others. Now with the blessings of J Jayakrishnan, he is presenting ‘Ivan Thanthiran-2’ for Masala Pictures. 

Gautham Karthik, who was introduced by Mani Ratnam in the film industry played the lead role in ‘Ivan Thanthiran’ alongside Shraddha Srinath. And now, the film’s second part will feature Saran  in the lead role. He had appeared with the credit of ‘Master Saran’  in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s ‘Neethane En Ponvasantham’. After appearing in such roles, he was recognized for his spellbinding performance for pivotal characters in movies like ‘Singam 3’ and ‘Vada Chennai’, which was followed by his appearance in the globally hit movie ‘KGF - Chapter 2’. He is now playing the lead role in ‘Ivan Thanthiran-2’, and the process of finalizing the actress for the female lead role is going on. 

Samuthirakani, Thambi Ramaiah, Redin Kingsley, Aadukalam Naren, Kalairani and many others are a part of this ensemble star-cast. 

 

Director R. Kannan reveals that the film’s tagline is Ritchie Street Boys Are Back. 

The film’s launch, a ritual pooja ceremony will happen on July 12 and will be soon followed by shooting schedules. 

Apart from producing and directing this film, R. Kannan is overseeing the story, screenplay, and dialogues as well.

R. Kannan has already completed his current project ‘Kanthari’ starring Hansika Motwani in dual roles. Recently, the business show had garnered a phenomenal response from the trade circles, where everyone appreciated both R. Kannan and Hansika Motwani for their commendable work. The makers are planning to release this film in August.
