Directed by Jayavel Murugan and produced by Karthik Sreedharan under the Yakkai Films banner, Varunan – God of Water is an intense action drama set against the backdrop of Royapuram. The film explores the rivalry between Ayyavu (Radha Ravi), a successful water plant owner, and John (Charanraj), a competitor whose business depends on Ayyavu’s refills.
