Kambi Katna Kathai Tamil Movie Review: Tangled in a Wire of Laughter and Lies

Director Rajanathan Periyasamy presents a refreshing comedy in this so-called “wire-cutting story,” blending clever humor with a treasure-hunt plot. The narrative begins with the tale of the famous Kohinoor diamond, tracing how it changed hands over time and has now become the target of a modern-day chase. When a politician secretly assigns policemen to retrieve the diamond, they recruit a trusted con artist, Nutty (Natty), to get the job done. What follows is a string of funny twists, betrayals, and mad chases as Nutty, tempted by greed, tries to outsmart everyone and ends up caught in his own “wire” of deception.

Natty fits the role perfectly, delivering a natural and entertaining performance as the witty trickster who fools people with smooth words and crooked plans. Sri Ranjani, appearing as a spiritual guru, adds a satirical punch to the story with her amusing presence. The supporting cast, Mukesh Ravi, Shalini, Singam Puli, Sultan Kothandam, and Sams, bring their own brand of humor, each contributing to the film’s lively rhythm. Their chemistry and comic timing keep the tone cheerful throughout, making the film feel energetic and spontaneous.

On the technical front, Tha. Muruganantham, who has written the screenplay and dialogues, ensures that laughter flows from start to finish with sharp, locally flavored writing. Supported by breezy music and neat visuals, the film stands out as a fun-filled entertainer. Overall, this “wire-cutting” comedy is a simple, humorous ride that offers plenty of laughs and proves that wit, when handled right, can keep audiences hooked till the very last frame.
