Anjaan Tamil Movie Re-Edited Version Review:

Anjaan, originally released in 2014, returned to theatres on November 28th with a refreshed and re-edited version. The team has trimmed the film to create a smoother narration, aiming to give the audience a better experience than the first release. Director Lingusamy openly admitted during the press meet that the earlier version faced strong trolling and criticism, and shared confidence that the new cut would correct past mistakes.

The re-edited version removes several portions, including the comedy track involving actor Soori. Many scenes have been tightened to improve the flow and reduce unwanted diversions. This attempt clearly shows the makers’ intention to keep the story more focused and engaging than the 2014 release, which was considered an utter flop.

The storyline itself has been restructured. In the original film, the plot followed Krishna entering the city in search of his brother and taking revenge for the death of his friend Chandru. The 2025 version flips this approach, now Chandru and Raju are shown as close friends who have a gang. Their own gang members betray them, leading to Chandru’s death and even Raju’s downfall. Years later, Raju returns under the name “Krishna,” pretending to be his own brother, and takes revenge on those responsible for killing Chandru.

Suriya, in the lead role as Raju/Krishna, gets a stronger presence in this re-edited cut. His style, screen presence, and action scenes work better with the tighter edit. Samantha Ruth Prabhu appears beautiful as always, and her portions feel more balanced in this new version. The supporting cast fits well, though their roles remain limited due to the trimmed runtime. Technically, the film benefits from cleaner editing, improved pacing, and a more focused screenplay.

Overall, the re-edited Anjaan is a more satisfying version compared to the 2014 release. While it still carries the core storyline, the improved narration and tighter structure make it easier to watch and understand. For fans of Suriya and those curious about the revised cut, this version offers a better experience that corrects some of the earlier flaws.
