Middle Class Tamil Movie Review:
Debut director Kishore M. Ramalingam
brings a grounded family drama with Middle Class, supported by producers Dev
and K.V. Durai. The film follows the everyday struggles of Karl Marx, played by
Munishkanth, who works in a private company and lives in Chennai with his wife
Anbarasi, portrayed convincingly by Vijayalakshmi Ahathian, along with their
two children. The setup immediately captures the routine pressures faced by
many middle-class families today.
Karl Marx’s biggest dream is to buy
farmland in his native village and eventually settle down there. But his
limited salary, rising household costs, and responsibilities toward his
children’s education keep pushing that dream further away. The story takes a
turn when news linked to his late father Sivapunnyam, played by Vela
Ramamoorthy, opens the door to what seems like a life-changing opportunity.
What initially appears to be a blessing slowly reveals the complications behind
it.
The performances strengthen the emotional
core of the film. Munishkanth delivers a warm and natural act that perfectly
suits a simple man fighting real-life challenges. Vijayalakshmi adds depth as a
supportive yet practical wife. Supporting actors like Kaali Venkat, Malavika
Avinash, and Radha Ravi fit well into their roles and help maintain an engaging
flow. The ensemble keeps the film relatable without slipping into unnecessary
melodrama.
Technically, Middle Class stays honest to
its theme. Kishore M. Ramalingam’s direction keeps the narrative
straightforward, focusing on characters rather than style. The writing remains
simple, highlighting the everyday worries of hardworking families. While the
film does not rely on big twists, it effectively shows how one
"jackpot" event can bring both hope and unexpected problems. In the
end, Middle Class stands as a gentle, realistic drama that many viewers will
connect with.
