Mellisai is a film written and directed by Dhirav, who also serves as the producer. The movie focuses on the life of an ordinary middle-class man and his emotional journey toward fulfilling a long-cherished dream. With music composed by Shankar Rangarajan, the film sets a soft and realistic tone that matches its theme of passion, struggle, and perseverance.

The story revolves around Rajan (played by G. Kishore Kumar), a Physical Education Teacher working in a school. Rajan belongs to a middle-class family and leads a disciplined life. His wife Vidya (played by Subatra Robert) works as a teacher in the same school. Though Rajan appears to be a simple and responsible man, he carries a deep passion within him, he dreams of becoming a singer.

Despite having a stable job, Rajan never let go of his love for music. He tries hard to balance his school responsibilities and his participation in singing competitions. Managing both at the same time becomes extremely challenging, especially when financial stability and family responsibilities begin to pressure him. Rajan is constantly caught between choosing his job for money and following his passion for music.

As the story progresses, Rajan faces several difficult phases in life. The need to support his family financially forces him to give priority to his job, even when his heart pulls him toward his dream. The film portrays how a common man struggles silently while trying to balance ambition, responsibility, and emotional stress. G. Kishore Kumar delivers a natural and convincing performance as Rajan, making the character relatable and believable. Subatra Robert supports the story well as Vidya, portraying a grounded and understanding partner. George Maryan, Harish Uthaman, Dhananya Varshini, and Jaswant Manikandan play their respective roles effectively, adding emotional depth and support to the narrative.

Technically, director Dhirav keeps the storytelling simple and focused, highlighting real-life struggles without unnecessary drama. Shankar Rangarajan’s music plays an important role in expressing Rajan’s passion for singing and enhances the emotional moments of the film. Overall, Mellisai is a sincere film that portrays the inner conflict of a man torn between livelihood and dreams, making it a relatable watch for many.
