Raindropss Charity Foundation successfully organised Raindropss Grammiya Kalaivizha 2026, in association with Velammal Nexus and VGP Heritage Golden Beach Resort, at Valluvar Garden, VGP Heritage Golden Beach Resort. The event was a vibrant celebration of traditional rural arts, inclusivity, and communal harmony.
A special highlight of the evening was the “Mannin Kural Awards”, instituted by Raindropss Charity Foundation to recognise and honour individuals who have been the authentic voices of the soil—those who have dedicated their lives to preserving, promoting, and representing grassroots art forms, folk traditions, and rural culture.
As part of the Mannin Kural Awards 2026, veteran folk artistes Dr. Pushpavanam Kuppusamy and Dr. Anitha Kuppusamy were honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award for their immense contribution to rural and folk art forms, and for being enduring voices of the land through their lifelong association with traditional cultural expressions. Additionally, Villupattu exponent Bharathi Thirumagan, traditional instruments reviver Sound Mani, environmentalist Nimal Raghavan, and organic farmer Prabhakaran were honoured with the Mannin Kural Awards for their significant contributions in their respective fields.
The Kalaivizha featured a rich line-up of traditional folk performances, village art forms, music, and dance, reflecting the spirit and vibrancy of Tamil Nadu’s rural heritage. The celebrations were complemented by communal Pongal festivities, symbolising gratitude, unity, and cultural pride.
Another significant aspect of the event was the participation of 400 students and senior citizens from various organisations including Anandam, Sevalaya, Jeyam Special School, and Sri Sai Illam, reinforcing Raindropss’ strong commitment towards accessibility and inclusivity in cultural spaces.
