Mylanji Tamil Movie Review: A Soulful Romance Set Against
Scenic Ooty
Mylanji is written and directed by Ajayan Bala and produced
by Dr. Arjunan. The film features music and lyrics by Ilaiyaraaja, whose
contribution plays an important role in shaping the emotional tone of the
story. The movie is presented as a romantic drama with strong emotional layers
and a meaningful message about love and sacrifice.
The story follows Surya, played by Sriram Karthick, a wildlife
photographer who suffers from an illness. He travels to Ooty to photograph an occasional
bird, but his journey takes an unexpected turn when he meets Charu. Charu,
portrayed by Krisha Kurup, is an emotional young woman who is forced into a
marriage against her will. As she plans to escape by choosing another man, she
slowly forms a deep and natural bond with Surya. The story builds to a touching moment in which love is tested by truth and sacrifice.
Sriram Karthick delivers a sincere and controlled performance
as Surya. He expresses emotions beautifully through his body language and
facial expressions, especially because his character has limited speech. Krisha
Kurup performs confidently as Charu and brings life to her role with strong
screen presence and emotional depth. Munishkanth as Ethiraj adds realistic
moments with his natural acting style, while Singampuli as Gulam Ali provides
light moments without disturbing the serious tone of the film.
Director Ajayan Bala handles the story with sensitivity and
calm storytelling. The screenplay focuses more on emotions than loud drama,
allowing the audience to connect with the characters. The setting of Ooty adds
beauty and freshness to the visuals, and the narrative flows smoothly towards
its emotional climax.
Ilaiyaraaja’s music is one of the strongest pillars of Mylanji.
His background score gently supports the romantic and emotional scenes, and the
songs blend naturally with the story. Overall, Mylanji is a soft romantic drama
that speaks about love, courage, and sacrifice. With heartfelt performances and
soulful music, the film leaves a lasting emotional impact.
