Love Insurance Kompany (LIK) Tamil Movie Review: A Modern
Love Story in the Age of Technology
Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), after a long wait of a few
years, was finally released on April 10, 2026. The film is written and directed by
Vignesh Shivan and produced by Nayanthara, with presentation by S.S. Lalit
Kumar. Backed by Rowdy Pictures and Seven Screen Studio, the film carries a
modern concept blended with romance and technology. Anirudh Ravichander’s music
plays an important role in setting the tone, with songs and background score
giving a vibrant and youthful feel to the film.
The story is set in the future, around the year 2040, where
technology plays a major role in people’s daily lives. The film explores how
advanced applications and digital influence start controlling human emotions
and relationships. This futuristic setting, along with the stylish background
score, gives the film a fresh and engaging vibe.
At the center of the story is Suriyan, played by S. J.
Suriyah, who develops an application called LIK (Love Insurance Kompany). This
app is designed to measure and manage love and relationships. Many companies
invest in this app, and it quickly becomes popular among the public.
However, the app faces challenges in court, where some judges
initially refuse to accept it. This leads to debates about whether technology
should interfere in human emotions. Eventually, public opinion is taken into
consideration, and the app is given a one-year trial period to prove its value.
Parallel to this, the film introduces Vibe Vassey, played by
Pradeep Ranganathan. He lives a simple life without using gadgets, under the
guidance of his father. His father runs an organic lifestyle center where
people live without technology for some time.
On the other hand, Dheema, played by Krithi Shetty,
represents the modern generation. She is deeply influenced by gadgets and
social media, aiming to gain more likes and views as an influencer. Her
character shows how today’s youth are connected to digital validation.
The story takes a turn when Vibe Vassey falls in love with
Dheema at first sight. To impress her, he steps into the digital world, buys a
mobile phone, and starts using the LIK app. This marks a major change in his
character and lifestyle, and the songs during these moments add a lively and
romantic vibe.
As they grow closer, their relationship develops through the
app. However, things change when Dheema checks their love percentage using the
upgraded version of the LIK app. The result shows a very low score, which leads
to disappointment and eventually a breakup. The emotional scenes are well
supported by the background score, enhancing the impact.
This becomes the emotional core of the film. Vibe Vassey
tries to prove that love cannot be measured by any application. He believes
that human emotions are deeper than any technology and cannot be replaced by
artificial intelligence or machines.
The film delivers a strong message that no matter how
advanced technology becomes, true human love will always remain special and
irreplaceable. The concept is presented in a simple and modern way that
connects well with today’s audience.
In terms of performances, Pradeep Ranganathan brings energy
and sincerity to his role. Krithi Shetty delivers a neat performance as a
modern influencer. S. J. Suriyah performs in his usual energetic style, while
Yogi Babu adds light-hearted comedy moments. Seeman’s dialogues and poetic
style stand out in certain scenes. Supporting actors like Gauri G Kishan and
others add value to the story.
Technically, the film is strongly supported by Anirudh
Ravichander’s music and background score, which enhance both the emotional and
romantic moments. The songs give a trendy and youthful vibe, matching the
film’s theme. The editing by Pradeep E Ragav keeps the narrative engaging,
though the film has a slightly slow pace at times. Overall, Vignesh Shivan
experiments with a new style of love story, combining romance with technology,
making Love Insurance Kompany a different and thought-provoking watch.
