Sattendru Maarudhu Vaanilai, directed by Babu Vijay, was released on May 15, 2026. The film mixes romance, thriller, family emotions, and crime elements engagingly. The story begins with Janu, played by Meenakshi Govindarajan, who is forced by her powerful minister father to marry a high-profile politician for political benefits. According to an astrologer’s prediction, the politician’s career will rise after marrying Janu. However, Janu’s mother strongly opposes the alliance, leading to a shocking and emotional twist inside the family.

At the same time, another family plans to trap Janu for her wealth, which is said to be worth ₹300 crore. Amid all these problems, Janu falls in love with Ramachandran, an orphan played by Jai. Their love story brings emotional depth to the film, and the couple eventually gets married despite the opposition surrounding them.

The story takes a thrilling turn after Ramachandran’s office colleagues gift the newly married couple a honeymoon resort coupon. Yogi Babu appears as Yogi, Ramachandran’s senior in the IT company, and he brings light-hearted moments with his natural comedy timing. Meanwhile, a dangerous gang secretly runs illegal activities at the same resort. They record the private moments of couples visiting the resort and leak the videos on dark websites to earn huge money. Without knowing the danger waiting for them, Janu and Ramachandran travel to the same resort.

The second half focuses on how the couple faces these unexpected threats and tries to escape from the dangerous situation. The screenplay keeps the audience curious about what will happen next. The film also highlights modern cybercrime issues and privacy threats in society. The suspense portions are handled decently, and the emotional connection between the lead characters helps the audience stay involved in the story.

Performance-wise, Jai delivers a neat and emotional performance as Ramachandran. His role suits him well, especially in the emotional and romantic scenes. Meenakshi Govindarajan gives a strong performance as Janu and handles both emotional and intense moments confidently. Yogi Babu adds entertainment with his comedy, while Ramachandra Raju, Sriman, Adithya Kathir, and Sathyan Sivakumar support the narration effectively with their performances.

On the technical side, music director Girishh Gopalakrishnan provides suitable background music that supports the thriller mood of the film. Cinematographer Richard M. Nathan captures the visuals neatly, especially the resort sequences and emotional scenes. Director Babu Vijay presents the story in a simple and understandable manner with a mix of romance, suspense, and social issues.
