DC Tamil Movie Review: A Different Side of Lokesh Kanagaraj as Das
DC Tamil Movie Review: A Different Side of Lokesh Kanagaraj as Das
DC is directed by Arun Matheswaran and produced by Kalanithi
Maran, with music composed by Anirudh Ravichander. The film features Lokesh
Kanagaraj in the lead role as Devadas, popularly known as Das. The film has
created considerable expectations because Lokesh Kanagaraj, widely known as a director, takes on a leading acting role here. This change in
role naturally makes the film an interesting one to watch.
Lokesh Kanagaraj plays Devadas “Das”, a character who becomes
closely involved in an intense situation surrounding a family. Wamiqa Gabbi
plays Chandra, while Sanjana Krishnamoorthy appears as Parvathi. Thalaivasal
Vijay plays Arasu, and Avinash Raghudevan portrays Kitty. The supporting cast
includes Krish Dayal as Bhojaraj, Balaji Deviprasad as Ashraf, Jawahar Sakthi
and Pranav Teophine as Das’ friends, Kasthuri Raja as Sendhooran, and Aadukalam
Naren as Inspector Rajadurai.
The story revolves around a family that believes their son
should receive a good education and have a better future. As part of this
effort, the family travels with a large amount of money. However, their journey
takes an unexpected turn when the money becomes the target of a police officer.
What follows is a series of aggressive chases, with Das becoming involved in
the situation while trying to help the family. This forms the film's main conflict and keeps the story moving forward.
Lokesh Kanagaraj makes an interesting shift from behind the
camera to the leading role. His performance as Das is important to the film,
particularly because the character is placed in a tense situation involving the
family and the chase. Wamiqa Gabbi, Sanjana Krishnamoorthy and Thalaivasal
Vijay provide good support to the central story, while the other actors
contribute to the film in their respective roles. The supporting performances
help maintain the flow of the narrative without taking the focus away from the
main conflict.
Director Arun Matheswaran presents a story built around
money, family, police pursuit, and survival. The film’s biggest point of
curiosity is Lokesh Kanagaraj appearing as the lead actor, which has already
raised expectations among audiences. Anirudh Ravichander’s music adds to the
overall cinematic experience, while the performances and chase-driven storyline
provide the film with its main strength. Overall, DC is an interesting attempt
that brings together a different combination of director, actor and technical
talent, with the central family conflict and Das’ involvement forming the
film’s key attraction.
