The story begins around 1947, shortly after Indian Independence, when the Portuguese were still present in Goa. Raya, played by Yash, is an aggressive and unpredictable man who lives life according to his own rules. He has little discipline and is surrounded by several women. When a new woman enters his life, his journey begins to change. The basic storyline is simple, but the film tries to present it through a much bigger and more stylish world.

Yash gives the film the energy it needs. His screen presence, attitude and aggressive body language suit the character of Raya. Nayanthara brings emotional strength to Ganga, particularly in the scenes showing her care and sacrifice for her brother. Kiara Advani, Tara Sutaria, Huma Qureshi and Rukmini Vasanth add variety to the story and perform their roles with confidence.

Geetu Mohandas attempts to create a different world with a strong visual style. However, the film sometimes feels overloaded with aggressive sequences, adult content, and heavy presentation. Instead of adding more impact, some of these portions may feel excessive and distract from the main story.

The technical work is one of the major attractions of Toxic. The production design, cinematography, action sequences, and visual effects aim for a large international-style presentation.
