Immortal Tamil Movie Review: A Mysterious Creature Story with a Different Twist

Immortal is a film with an unusual concept and a different style of narration. The story combines mystery, survival, relationships, and the struggle between humans and a strange creature. The film uses CGI and several technical elements to create its world, but the interesting part is how these elements are connected to the story. The unusual concept and narration make the film different from regular Tamil films.

The story revolves around a mysterious creature that has survived for around 1,000 years. The film slowly reveals the history of this creature and how it came into existence. Years ago, a woman became pregnant, but she did not give birth to a normal human child. Instead, she gave birth to a strange and distinctive creature. This unusual beginning becomes the foundation for the mystery that continues throughout the film.

After its birth, the creature kills its father and the elderly woman who was involved in taking care of the mother and child. It then enters the forest and struggles to survive by drinking the blood of animals. As humans begin entering the forest, the creature becomes more dangerous and starts attacking them as well. Several people lose their lives, creating fear and adding tension to the story.

The creature later takes on a beautiful human appearance to attract women and continue its survival. However, its connection with Sindhu becomes different from its earlier encounters. Sindhu, played by Kayadu Lohar, becomes connected to the creature and learns more about its unusual nature. Her desire to give birth to a creature of her own through her relationship with Magi adds another layer of mystery to the story.

G. V. Prakash Kumar plays Magi and gives a natural performance. His character becomes increasingly important as he tries to understand the mystery surrounding Sindhu and the creature. He handles the moments of confusion, fear, and discovery effectively. Kayadu Lohar gives a convincing performance as Sindhu, especially in the emotional and mysterious scenes. T. M. Karthik, Kumar Natarajan, Lollu Sabha Maaran, Aaditya Kathir, Arshu Maharjan, Pema Tsamchoe and Sunita Shrestha also provide good support in their respective roles.

Director and writer Mariyappan Chinna deserves appreciation for attempting a story with a different concept. Instead of revealing everything immediately, the film gradually explains the creature's history and its connection with the other characters. The second half becomes more interesting as Magi discovers more about Sindhu and the creature. The mystery surrounding the creature, including the secret of how it can be defeated, gives the second half more suspense and keeps the audience interested.

The technical department plays an important role in creating the unusual world of Immortal. Cinematographer Arun Radhakrishnan's visuals support the forest atmosphere and the mysterious situations effectively. Editor M. Rajesh maintains a steady flow throughout the 131-minute film. Sam C. S.'s music and original score help build the suspense and support the emotional and mysterious moments. The CGI and other visual effects are also important in bringing the creature and its world to the screen.

Overall, Immortal is a different kind of Tamil film that combines fantasy, mystery, survival, and creature-based storytelling. Its unusual concept and narration are its biggest strengths, while the second half provides more suspense and curiosity. G. V. Prakash Kumar and Kayadu Lohar deliver effective performances, and the technical team supports the film's mysterious atmosphere.
