Kitti is a crime and investigation drama produced by Thirumaran under the banner of Riya Sri Creations and written and directed by Nedumaran. The film stars Ashok in the lead role as Vijay, an auto driver whose psychological condition becomes an important part of the story. Kadhar has composed the music. The film brings together crime, love, courtroom proceedings and investigation, with Vijay's psychological condition forming the main mystery.

The film opens with Vijay walking into a police station and surrendering himself. He confesses that he has killed Shiva and Pooja. Pooja, played by Nisha Ishmeet, is a North Indian girl, while Vijay is an auto driver. During the court proceedings, Vijay says that he loved Pooja but that she cheated on him. The story then takes the audience back to show how Vijay and Pooja fell in love. Pooja starts learning Tamil, while Vijay begins learning Hindi, showing how both of them make an effort to understand each other and express their love. Vijay also explains that Shiva, a local man, was arranged by Pooja's father to warn him to stay away from Pooja, and this becomes part of the reason Vijay claims that he killed Shiva.

As the case moves forward, the police begin investigating Vijay's background and his activities. During the investigation, they approach a doctor, who gives a statement about Vijay's psychological condition. It becomes clear that Vijay has a psychological problem that affects the way he understands certain incidents. This condition becomes an important part of the investigation, as the police begin to question whether Vijay's statements are based on reality or on what he believes has happened.

The courtroom proceedings bring another major twist to the story. Maha, played by Sangavi Dharmaraj, tells the police that she has never seen Vijay in her life and that she was never in love with him. She is also preparing to get married and does not want anything to disturb her future life. However, Vijay gives a completely different statement. He claims that he was in love with Maha, that she cheated on him and that she was going to marry another man. Vijay then says that he murdered Maha because of this. The surprising part is that Maha is actually alive, making Vijay's statement even more confusing.

As the investigation continues, another side of the case comes to light. The court proceedings establish that Vijay is not the actual killer and that another auto driver, Raja, played by Arjoona Duraisamy, is responsible for the crime. Vijay's psychological condition becomes a key point in understanding the case. Video visuals show Vijay imagining certain incidents and believing that he was involved in them. This makes it difficult to understand what really happened and what Vijay has only imagined.

The film explains Vijay's condition through his unusual way of accepting information. If someone tells him that he has committed a particular incident, Vijay starts believing that he actually did it. He then accepts the incident as something he himself has done. Raja uses this weakness to put the blame for the crimes on Vijay. As a result, Vijay believes the accusations and gives statements accepting responsibility for crimes that he did not commit. Eventually, Vijay is released while Raja is sent to prison, but Raja continues to say that he is not the killer.

However, the case does not end with Raja's imprisonment. Maha's statement creates further confusion for the police officer, who decides to continue the investigation. He once again approaches the doctor to understand Vijay's psychological condition and the events connected to the case. During this investigation, another important connection is revealed. The doctor's daughter Deepthi, played by Simu Advani, was a college friend of Pooja. Deepthi also becomes a victim after being brutally raped and murdered, adding another serious layer to the investigation.

The film gradually presents Vijay as an innocent person whose psychological condition has been used by the real killer. The central mystery revolves around how Vijay became trapped in the case and who is actually responsible for the murders. The investigation moves through different statements, evidence and revelations, while Vijay's condition makes it difficult to separate reality from his imagination. Ashok gives a mature performance as Vijay and handles the emotional and psychological portions of the character well. His expressions suit Vijay's confused state, while his performance in the love scenes, dance sequences and fight scenes adds variety to the role. Nisha Ishmeet as Pooja, Sangavi Dharmaraj as Maha and Simu Advani as Deepthi deliver neat performances in their respective roles. Arjoona Duraisamy as Raja plays an important role in the investigation and adds to the mystery surrounding the case. Gee Mahindra, as the judge, appears in a few courtroom sequences, and his portions are suitably handled.

Overall, Kitti is a crime investigation drama that combines love, murder, courtroom proceedings and psychological elements. The film's central idea revolves around an innocent man whose psychological condition is misused to make him believe that he committed crimes he did not commit.
