Sandakari is a Tamil film written and directed by R. Madhesh and produced by Jeyabalan Jeyakumar under Boss Production Corporation. The film features Vimal and Shriya Saran in the lead roles, along with Prabhu, Uma Padmanabhan, Sathyan, K. R. Vijaya, Rekha, and Sharmiela Mandre in supporting roles. The music is composed by Amresh Ganesh. The film was released on 18 September 2026.

Vimal plays Vetri, a determined software engineer who comes from a village in Tamil Nadu and travels to London for a job. Vetri is portrayed as a simple and hardworking person who wants to build a better future through his career. Vimal gives a natural performance in the role and handles the emotional portions involving his family and his experiences in London well.

Shriya Saran plays Maya Azhagan, an Indian woman who works and lives in London. She is career-focused and wants to move to a higher position in the same company. Maya is shown as a senior executive with a strong and sometimes arrogant attitude, which creates difficulties for Vetri at work. Shriya Saran brings confidence to the character and effectively shows Maya's professional attitude as well as the changes in her emotions as the story progresses.

The story takes an interesting turn when Vetri becomes Maya's executive assistant and faces several difficult tasks because of her demanding nature. When an immigration complication forces Maya to introduce Vetri as her fiancé, the two have to maintain the lie while travelling from London to Vetri's family home in Tamil Nadu. Their relationship begins with unwillingness and irritation, but their journey gradually helps them understand each other, leading to an unexpected bond.

Prabhu plays Vetri's father, who lives in the village, while Uma Padmanabhan plays his mother. Their performances bring the family's emotions into the story. Sathyan plays a person working in Maya's company and also experiences the impact of her strict and arrogant behaviour. K. R. Vijaya appears later in the film, while Rekha appears in the climax as Maya's mother. Sharmiela Mandre is also part of the cast. The supporting actors contribute to the different situations and emotional moments in the film.

Another important point in the story is Vetri's idea of creating an app related to NEET education. His aim is to make educational knowledge available to everyone, especially students. This idea could have given more depth to Vetri's character and his ambitions. However, the app-related scenes are not clearly seen in the film, making this part of the story feel incomplete.

Amresh Ganesh's music supports the different moods of the film and its emotional situations. R. Madhesh, as the writer and director, brings together the London workplace setting, family emotions, village portions and the relationship between Vetri and Maya. The film mainly moves forward through the situations faced by the lead characters and the gradual change in their relationship.

Overall, Sandakari is a drama that connects London life with a Tamil Nadu village setting while combining workplace challenges, family emotions and an unexpected relationship. The film has an interesting central idea, although the lack of focus on Vetri's education app leaves one part of the story underdeveloped. The journey of Vetri and Maya, from an unwilling relationship to a better understanding of each other, forms the main emotional thread of Sandakari.
